Windows 8.1 Spring Update (Feature Pack) Download Leaked

The Windows 8.1 Spring 2014 Update has been leaked, a month ahead of official general availability widely anticipated to be April 8th, 2014.

Unlike service pack, there are several updates that applied for the Windows 8.1 Spring 2014. As such, the leak includes several standalone MSU files for Windows 8.1. The main update is named KB2919355, and other updates been prerequisites or supplement. Some of the updates indicate themselves as Windows Feature Pack.

Windows 8.1 Spring Update 1 RTM and To Release on April 8th

The first major update for Windows 8.1, known as Windows 8.1 Spring Update by Microsoft or Windows 8.1 Update 1 by some, has hit RTM (released to manufacturing) milestone on February 21st, 2014. Windows 8.1 RTM Downloads Leaked

The original Windows 8.1 RTM ISO images created by Microsoft has been leaked by WZOR. Microsoft has earlier completed the development of Windows 8.1 RTM, and compiled the new version of OS at build number 8.1—9600.16384.130821-1623 on August 21st, 2013. Microsoft has also set the official general availability (GA) release date for Windows 8.1 to October 18, 2013.

Unlikely prior Windows releases, this round not even the ‘privileged’ MSDN and TechNet subscribers will get the software earlier than the mass, despite Microsoft has immediately delivered Windows 8.1 to OEMs, in an obvious attempt to prevent a leak. But here comes the leak for Windows 8.1 RTM. But note that Microsoft has released more QFE (Quick Fix Engineering) updates for Windows 8.1 before GA to fix issues that are discovered after RTM, and that’s explained the gap between between RTM and GA.

The pre-order of Windows 8 has started from October 12nd, 2012. Windows 8 Official ISO Images and Product Keys Released on MSDN and TechNet

The official ISO images for Windows 8 have been made available by Microsoft on MSDN and TechNet Subscriber Downloads on the morning of scheduled August 15th, 2012 for free download.

The retail version of Windows 8 is released as a single ISO image (excluding N edition), which supposedly can be used to install any editions of Windows 8 based on the product key entered; while VL (Volume Licensing) version of Windows 8 has two ISO images for Windows 8 Enterprise edition and Windows 8 Pro VL edition separately. Both 32-bit and 64-bit ISOs are available.
