Panasonic has announced the upcoming launch of its new ultra-compact, lightweight Panasonic HDC-SDX1, which the company claims as the world’s lightest full HD camcorder (weighs under 0.41 pounds). The Panasonic SDX1 combines 35.8 mm wide-angle lens, Advanced Optical Technology and HYBRID Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) system to deliver an ultimate video shooting experience.



Features of Panasonic HDC-SDX1 include:

  • 2.7-inch wide LCD touchscreen display
  • 35.8mm wide-angle lens with 23x Intelligent Zoom
  • Record full-HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) AVCHD video at 30fps in MP4 format
  • Newly-designed HYBRID O.I.S. (Optical Image Stabilization) system addressing hand-shake issues
  • O.I.S. Lock maximizes blur detection sensitivity for better hand-shake correction
  • Double as a Webcam and mic for connecting with Internet video chat apps, such as Skype
  • Panasonic’s renowned Intelligent Auto (iA) mode includes Face Recognition, HYBRID O.I.S., AF/AE Tracking, Intelligent Scene Selector, Face Detection and Intelligent Contrast Control

Panasonic HDC-SDX1 that supports Apple iFrame video format and SD, SDHC or SDXC memory card will be available in coming September 2010 for about $500.
