Few days after releasing Windows Vista SP2 (Service Pack 2) pre-beta and Windows Server 2008 SP2 pre-beta, both with build version 6002.16489 (v.105), have been upgraded and released as a beta release to beta testers in Microsoft Connect. The new Windows Server 2008 SP2 beta and Windows Vista SP2 beta has build version of 6002.16497 (v.113), and can also been updated via Windows Update.

Beta testers who have been accepted or have invite for Windows Vista SP2 beta or Windows Server 2008 SP2 beta can download the 32-bit DVD ISO images of Windows Vista SP2 Beta or download the 64-bit DVD ISO images for the latest build version of v6002.16497, which was compiled on October 17, 2008, from Microsoft Connect (connect.microsoft.com), together with DataGrabber Tool which is used to improve the bug filing process by automatically gathering important system information to include with bug reports.

There are five languages of SP2 for both Windows Vista and WS 2008 that currently supported – English, German, French, Spanish, and Japanese, in both 32- and 64-bit editions. The DVD ISO files has the size of between 1GB and 4GB.

For users who install SP2 over Windows Update, the size of the download is about 41MB for Windows Vista x86, 47MB for Windows Server 2008 x86, 60MB for Windows Vista x64, and 90MB for Windows Server 2008 x64.

And good news is, there are already positive feedback from early testers on the SP2, especially for Windows Vista system, which improves on performance and stability.
