iPhone 2.0, the operating system or firmware software of iPhone 3G and original first generation iPhone has been cracked and hacked by iPhone Dev Team. And a iPhone hacking tool, “PwnageTool 2.0”, has been developed to enable users to ‘jailbreak’ iPhone running firmware software version 2.0.

Once jail broken, iPhone 2.0 and iPhone 3G can run unofficial, third-party apps and programs. PwnageTool 2.0 features lots of new features, including 2.0 support, spotlight file indexing of .ipsws, canned websearches, installer custom configuration, custom root partitions and various other things, according iPhone Dev Team.

The Pwnage Tool 2.0 has yet to be released, as further testing is required to ensure that the jailbreaking tool is perfect to use and glitch free. For iPhone owners all gears out to hack the mobile devices, iPhone Dev Team has released video clips demonstrating PwnageTool 2.0 in action.

For some people who doesn’t believe the existence of PwnageTool 2.0, or that iPhone 3G 2.0 has been jailbroken, iPhone Dev Team has released another video clip command link talking and unlacing the iBoot, kind of BIOS in firmware. Video shows how Pwnage breaks the chain of trust from the very earliest boot stage to make the iPhone BIOS less restrictive to allow non-Apple-approved code to run.

PwnageTool 2.0 has been released.
