Play and Stream Windows Media Player Video and Audio (ASF, WMV, WMA) Embedded Directly Within FireFox
FireFox web browser by default does not have the ability to play embedded Windows Media Player (WMP) audio and video files on a web page directly. Windows Media multimedia framework is a technology Microsoft created for media creation and distribution for Windows operating system platform. Thus, initially only Internet Explorer has the Windows Media browser extension add-on to support playback of streaming media contents with file types and extensions of .ASF, .WMV or .WMA over the Internet through the MMS protocol or the RTSP protocol.
To allow Windows Media files to be streamed within window of Mozilla Firefox, a non-IE third-party browser, Microsoft releases Windows Media Player Firefox Plugin which will allow content files created for Windows Media Player formats to be able to playback directly in Firefox via streaming without downloading.
Windows Media Player Firefox Plugin works on Windows XP SP2 and Windows Vista, both 32-bit (x86) and 64-bit (x64) versions.
Download Windows Media Player Firefox Plugin.
Simply run the wmpfirefoxplugin.exe and then click on Install button to automatically download and install the plugin. Administrator logon and access may be required. Users are also required to close all browsers windows before installing. Actually, if you try to playback an embedded Windows Media file on a web page in Firefox, the Firefox will direct you to download this plugin too from this page.

Installed the Firefox plugin and it worked just as advertised not only with Firefox but with Google Chrome and Safari and of course IE. I am running Windows 7.
I would like to obtain the paramenters to not display the console controls.
I have searched high and low but unable to locate any of these parameters.
Anyone know where I can find them?

The plugin would be ok for my Vista but my Windows Media Player is not working, Vista can't find a fix for it and it closes as did also Quicktime which I uninstalled along with iTunes but the problem still exists so I installed irfanview and it plays my media such as WMV WMA MP3 and QT MOV MIDI WAVE SND AU etc. so you have to install all the plugins to do this it don't come with everything so do thst when prompted if you want to or download the package before yu run irfanview and it works also changes all media icons.

The program does images and you can resize them and crop them and add text to them if you want using the tabs menu as well as more features. Explore this fully. This actually could be better than Windows Live Writer with Snipping Tool Plugin as it does work with Windows 98/SE, Windows XP, and Vista.
