Windows 7 Experience Index Rating Score Tweaked

Microsoft has introduced Windows Experience Index (WEI) in Windows Vista, which help users to better understand how well Windows Vista and other software will perform on the PC. In Windows Vista, computer is rated with a “base score” ranges from 1.0 to 5.9 that is achieved by measuring the capability of computer’s hardware configuration. However, the WEI score in Vista has been dismal and surprisingly low for many, especially on gaming graphics card, causing overall rating to drop.

Notable Changes in Windows Vista and Windows Server 2008 SP2 RC

Microsoft has updated the list of notable changes that are applied by the Service Pack 2 (SP2) RC to Windows Vista and Windows Server 2008, which have changed slightly when comparing the changes made during SP2 Beta. The SP2 includes all previously released hotfixes and security updates, and also changes to support new types of hardware and several emerging standards, in addition to further streamline deployment and management of Windows Vista and Windows Server 2008 for IT administrators.
