The new US e-passport will be equipped with an embedded RFID chip which located on one of the back pages and used to hold all your biographical information and a digital image of the passport photograph. The new e-passport will facilitate the use of face recognition technology at ports-of-entry and exit across America. According to Bureau of Consular Affairs, U.S. Department of State (travel.state.gov), the US new e-passport will also have a new look, incorporating additional anti-fraud and security features.

The new electronic passport is in the development works for about six years, and is the first complete redesign of passport since 1993.
