For some reason, many people has more than one active Google Accounts available for using multiple Gmail, Google Calendar, Google Voice, Google Reader and other Google products. To allows Google service users who have many accounts, Google has added delegation feature to Gmail, which allows one Gmail login to access multiple Gmail accounts.

But what about other Google services? Or user who not prefer to use access delegation granting option which also allows contacts to be shared? Google has a multiple-sign in feature, which when turned on, allows users to login to multiple Google Accounts (and hence multiple Gmail, Google Calendar and other services) simultaneously and concurrently, in a single web browser without any hack.

With the transition of Google Apps to common Google platform, multiple sign-in feature now applies to Google Apps account too.

Multiple sign-in can be used to login to more than one Google Accounts at the same time to access and switch between the following Google products:

  • Calendar
  • Code
  • Gmail
  • Reader
  • Sites
  • Voice
  • Profiles
  • Finance
  • Docs (Google Apps account only)

In fact, you no need to switch or jump between accounts, as multiple sign-in allows different Google accounts or sessions to open at another web browser’s window or tab. Or you can click on the arrow next to your Google Account email address (at top right) to switch between accounts when using the supported web services.

To enable and turn on the multiple sign-in support, just log in to any Google Accounts, and then click on Edit multiple sign-in.

Then, click and select the radio button for On – Use multiple Google Accounts in the same web browser, and tick the check boxes for the following options to confirm you understand how to use multiple sign-in:

  • The account you’re currently using is displayed at the top of most Google product pages, or at the bottom of most pages on mobile devices. Always check to make sure you’re using the account you want.
  • Not all Google products support multiple sign-in. When switching between Google products, the account you’re currently using may change.
  • Google products not listed above will default to the first account that you signed in to using your current web browser session.
  • Offline Mail and Offline Calendar will be disabled. You may lose any unsent mail.

Click Save button. Refresh the web page that loading the Google service (such as Gmail and Calendar) to enable the multiple sign-on. You may need to sign out of all accounts for this setting to take effect.

Once enabled, to logon to another account, just click on the down arrow next to the currently login email address, and select Sign in to another account. A new browser tab or window will be opened for you to login, after which u can easily switch and jump between the logged in accounts. To open two or more Google accounts at the same time, just open more tabs. The subsequent Google Account that been logged into will have Multiple Sign-in automatically opt-in.

How to Sign In to Another Google Accounts Simultaneously

The first Google Account used to sign in in the browser session for multiple sign-ins will be the default account for the rest of that session. Any Google products that don’t support multiple accounts after will automatically sign in to default account for that product.

Last but not least, if you sign out of any Google product while signed in to any account, you will be signed out of all your Google Accounts at once.

Hint: If the Google products that you’re using does not support multiple sessions yet, Google suggests the following workarounds:
