AIM Ad Hack is a free third-party add-on for AOL Instant Messenger (AIM) created by Cuban-Aftermath Software. AIM Ad Hack blocks and removes advertisements from the GUI of AIM, and can remove or uninstall spyware such as Viewpoint Media Player and WildTangent which are commonly included in AIM installation. AIM Ad Hack modifies the AIM executable itself to remove ads and spyware, thus have to be loaded every time AIM is started. It can be run as a stand-alone program or as an add-on to an existing installation of AIM

How to Unassociate, Remove or Delete Programs From “Open With” or “Recommended Programs” List

In Windows operating system such as Windows 7, Windows Vista, Windows XP, Windows Server 2008 R2, Windows Server 2008, Windows Server 2008, Windows 2000 or Windows Me, when user right clicks on a file with registered file type in Windows Explorer, user can use the “Open With” command to select an associated programs to open the file. Over the time, each program that user used to open the specific file extension is added to the Open With list for the file type, even if the program user is using is unable to or cannot open the selected file type, or has since been uninstalled.

User may notice that the operation to access or open remote drive takes about 15 to 20 seconds to complete, and Windows Explorer may ‘fade’ or ‘gray out’ with title bar showing Not Responding until the operating is complete when user try to perform other operations, such as clicking Search, View, or Back.

How to Check and Verify SHA1 and MD5 with File Checksum Integrity Verifier (KB841290 FCIV)

The File Checksum Integrity Verifier (FCIV) is a free command-prompt utility from Microsoft that computes and verifies cryptographic hash values of files with support for MD5 or SHA-1 cryptographic hash values. The MD5 and SHA-1 checksum values generated by FCIV can be displayed on the screen to compare against known good value or saved in an XML file database for later use and verification.
