Intel Officially Named Nahelem Processor as Core i7

Intel has officially named its upcoming Nahelem processor as Core i7 under Intel Core family. This next generation processor, a successor of the Core 2 Duo series, will be based on a totally new Intel microarchitecture with native quad-core on a single die and further enhanced with Intel Hyper-threading Technology targeted for high end desktop and server markets.

Fingerprint Test on Chemical Compounds

Are you a fan of CSI? Are you intrigued by the sophisticated and technologically advanced devices which help David Caruso and his team to nail the criminals? The latest fingerprint test has helped give medical examiners and law enforcement officers a boost. While fingerprints have long been used to identify criminals, scientists have now taken the technology a step further. The latest fingerprint test, desorption electospray ionization (Desi), discovered by R Graham Cooks, a professor of chemistry at Purdue University, and his colleagues, can detect what the fingers have handled such as drugs, explosives or poisons. With just a tiny bit of electrically charged liquid sprayed on the fingerprint, scientists can detect compounds from the fingerprint molecules with a mass spectrometer.

Toshiba Unveiled 32GB Highest Memory Capacity NAND Flash Memory Devices for Consumer Markets

Toshiba has just unveiled a 32GB ultra high capacity NAND flash memory device targeted for various market segments in consumer markets. The new embedded memory device is claimed to be fully compliance with both JEDEC/MMCA v.4.3 and SDA V2.0 memory standard. Fabricated using 43-nm process technology, it is able to pack more memory cells into an ultra small form factor as compared to previous technology.
