Super Micro Announces Low Power Server Based on Intel Atom Processor

Intel Atom processor has been getting much traction and is currently occupying most of the netbook and nettop designs in consumer market space. Some of you may not aware, the ultra low power and small foot print thermally efficient processor can also be designed into other market segments even including server application. Just recently, Super Micro Computer has just announced a new server solution based on Intel Atom processor targeted for IPC (Industrial PC) usage.

Intel Officially Launched Xeon 5500 Series (Nehalem) for Server Market

After the previous release of Nehalem processors for desktop version back to November last year, Intel Inc has just officially launched the new Xeon processors targeted for enterprise server market. HP Announces New MediaSmart Home Servers For PCs And Macs

Plug and Use BladeCenter S by IBM

IBM cited an IDC research forecast showing blade computer market revenue growing to US$11 billion by 2010, from $3 billion in 2005. IDC research also forecasts blade sales to account for 18.1 percent of all server sales by 2011, from 6.6 percent this year. Blades are appealing to data center managers because they are smaller and more energy efficient than rack servers.
