Samsung Unveiled Ultra Slim NAND Flash Memory Chip for Smartphone Market

Nowadays smartphones are equipped with larger capacity of internal flash memory as the resolution and size of media files start to grow. In order to cater for the demand of much higher capacity of NAND Flash memory while still able to maintain its slim form factor design, Samsung has developed an “ultra-thinning” technology that is claimed to be able to bring down the flash memory chip thickness to merely 0.6mm, making the whole design more flexible with ample of stack up margin targeted for smartphones and handheld portable devices.

ZiiLabs Unveiled ZMS-08 SoC with Blu-ray Playback Quality Targeted for Next Generation Mobile Devices

With the increasing demand of greater visual and multimedia experience in mobile device, there is a need of more powerful mobile processor that can handle video and graphics processing. Just recently, ZiiLabs has reached another milestone by unveiling a next generation mobile processor targeted for media playback capability exceeding 1080p full HD (High Definition). Named as ZMS-08, it is based on ARM Cortex architecture clocking at 1GHz that is believed to be able to accelerate and display the High Profile H.264 format at 40Mbps equivalent to Blu-ray technology.

ARM Provides Initial Information on Eagle Architecture for Future Smartphones
