Intel Tested WiMax Rural Connectivity Platform with 60 Miles Coverage

Wimax, or better known as long distance WiFi is another famous backhaul technology that supports long distance wireless broadband access from one city to another. It is especially useful for those rural areas whereby setting up necessary infrastructure could be an obstacle. Intel, the famous giant chip maker has tested and even put in plan to start selling its WiMax platform to India and other countries later by this year.

Dlink Announced Powerful Quadband 802.11n DIR-855 Wireless Router for Digital Home

The famous network solutions provider, D-Link has just announced the new Wireless N Router with powerful Quadband capability. Named as DIR-855, it is the first 802.11n certified router that is able to scale up the throughput significantly with advanced technology utilizing both 2.4GHz and 5GHz channels simultaneously. Amazingly, it is claimed to be able to support multiple HD (High Definition) media streaming in digital home with the availability of total bandwidth of 600Mbps!

Toshiba Unveiled G450 HSDPA USB Modem with Mobile Phone Function

Toshiba has just unveiled a new series of HSDPA USB modem known as G450 for home network devices. Besides featured as an USB modem that connects to any laptop to feed in broadband service for internet browsing, it also acts as a mobile phone for voice and data communication to take place. Some of you may aware that mobile phone can be configured as wireless modem to be connected to laptop via Bluetooth or USB for network connectivity, but this one seems to be the first product that integrates both function as a single device.

Edimax Unveiled Wireless 802.11n USB Adapter with MIMO Technology

Edimax has just unveiled a new Wireless 802.11n USB adapter for consumer market. Known as EW-7718Un, it is complies with 802.11n draft 2.0 standard. As you all aware, 802.11n is capable to scale the transmission rate up to six times more than existing famous 802.11a/b/g wireless technology. Even though there are already many products with 802.11n compliance in the market, but its tiny and portable design has able to differentiate itself from others in this competitive environment. Normal 802.11n network routers are generally available in box or dongle type but Edimax has able to shrink it down to be exactly the size of an USB thumb drive.

Sony Unveiled TransferJet Near Field Communication Technology for Wireless World

Sony has just unveiled a new wireless technology for short distance communication and data transfer. Known as TransferJet, it is targeted for high speed data transfer for near field wireless technology. With the backbone technology supported by UWB (Ultra Wide Band), TransferJet enables even higher speed wireless transfer of up to 560 Mbps, as compared to existing Wireless USB at only 480 Mbps.
