Lenovo IdeaPad FL5-B3 as the First Intel Atom Pineview Nettop

Intel Atom is getting good traction and is currently dominating nettop market with a series of processors under this family. In order to continue its momentum, the giant chipmaker is planning to launch its successor, codenamed as Pineview combining with its TigerPoint chipset offering two-chip solution for much effective board design with lower BOM (Bill of Material) cost. While most of us are still waiting for its availability targeted by early next year, a recent FCC filing has disclosed that the first Pinetrail based netbook could be provided by Lenovo under one of its IdeaPad series.

ARM Based EasyPC E790 – One of the Cheapest Netbooks Retailing at $80

We mentioned about Jointech JL7100 and Lanyu LY-EB01 as cheaper version of nettop/netbook under sub $100 price range earlier, now seems that another China-based manufacturer, Menq has unveiled an ARM based netbook to fill up the low cost category targeted for those that are tight of budget. Named as EasyPC E790, it is now available at only $80, and is believed to be able to run Android as one of the cheapest machines in this competitive and fast growing market.

After a long waiting, Dell has finally announced the specifications of its new ultra-thin laptop which named as Adamo XPS. The Adamo XPS is a stunning laptop which has been designed to provide a unique experience with the swipe of a finger, the keyboard that appears from under the display as the system is open. The Adamo XPS is claimed to be the world’s thinnest laptop with only 0.4-inch thick.

Lenovo Adds BIOS Option to Configure Ctrl and Fn Key Functions in Future ThinkPad Notebooks

Typically, conventional keyboard buttons are arranged in such as way that Ctrl (Control) button stays at the most bottom left end with Fn (Function) button on its right. But Lenovo has designed it slightly different with both of their positions swapped and this small change may actually cause trouble for users especially those that being exposed to other brands before transitioning to Lenovo machine. So instead of trying to lock the computer using Ctrl + Alt + Delete buttons, you may mistakenly type Fn + Alt + Delete that activates nothing, that may cause inconvenience and inefficiency of your daily life. Good news now, the company hears consumers’ feedback and is currently working on BIOS fix that will add an option to allow users configuring both the buttons as inverted functions while keeping its keyboard buttons unchanged.
