Lenovo Adds BIOS Option to Configure Ctrl and Fn Key Functions in Future ThinkPad Notebooks

Typically, conventional keyboard buttons are arranged in such as way that Ctrl (Control) button stays at the most bottom left end with Fn (Function) button on its right. But Lenovo has designed it slightly different with both of their positions swapped and this small change may actually cause trouble for users especially those that being exposed to other brands before transitioning to Lenovo machine. So instead of trying to lock the computer using Ctrl + Alt + Delete buttons, you may mistakenly type Fn + Alt + Delete that activates nothing, that may cause inconvenience and inefficiency of your daily life. Good news now, the company hears consumers’ feedback and is currently working on BIOS fix that will add an option to allow users configuring both the buttons as inverted functions while keeping its keyboard buttons unchanged.

Lenovo IdeaPad U150 CULV Ultraportable Laptop With Longer Battery Life

Lenovo has announced its new 11.6-inch ultraportable laptops named as Lenovo IdeaPad U150, which comes with stylish designs and innovative features. The new Lenovo IdeaPad U150 is equipped with ultra-low-voltage (CULV) version of the 1.2 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo SU2300 processor, 320GB HDD, 8GB DDR3 memory, and Intel GMA 4500MHD graphics card. Intel Plans to Lower Netbook Pricing with Atom N450 Launching by Early 2010

TI New DaVinci DM368IPNC-MT5 1080p HD Reference Design for IP Camera and Video Analytical Applications

TI (Texas Intruments) is one of the ARM licensees and is famous with its low power thermally efficient processor targeted for various usages. Just recently, the company has announced a new HD (High Definition) capable IP camera reference design named as DM368IPNC-MT5 as an effort to simplify and speed up customer design. Being powered by DM36x-400 SoC (Silicon on Chip) DaVinci processor, it is claimed to be able to process full HD H.264 format in 1080p video frame at 30fps (frame per second) while able to maintain a thermal envelope below three watts, which is superior in terms of performance per watt as compared to other rivals’ solutions.

Dell has announced its new Inspiron Z-series of ultraportable laptops, Inspiron 13z, which comes with 13.3-inch WLED High Definition TFT Display with TrueLife (1366 x 768 pixels resolution), aiming to provide excellent color reproduction for images and movies. In addition, the laptop is equipped with Intel’s ultra-low-voltage processors Intel Pentium Core 2 Duo SU4100, with long-lasting battery option, discrete graphics and an internal DVD drive. This sleek looking laptop also offers a slot-loading drive and includes three USB 2.0, Gigabit Ethernet, WiFi (Bluetooth is optional), and 7-in-1 card reader.
