Fix Windows Vista Search Indexer Has Stopped Working with KB952093

Windows Vista Search indexing service on some computer may face with problem where Windows Search Indexes stops working abruptly and force to close and exit with the following error message. The only option available for user is to check online for a solution, and apparently there is no resolution until now.

Restore and Reset File Association in Windows Vista Back to Original Default

Windows Vista allows user to change and set default program association for most kind of file extension type via Control Panel’s “Set Associations” or “Set Default Programs” under “Default Programs” link. However, there is no option or way to reset or restore the file type or file extension association to back to original default the is configured in factory-pre-installed or freshly installed Windows Vista.

Reset and Fix Broken Windows Vista File Ext and Type Associations (Include EXE, COM, SYS, ZIP, LNK, Folder, Drive)

Windows Vista file type and file extension associations may be corrupted, broken and go haywire, causing files with some extensions cannot be opened properly. For example, some third party programs may wrongly set or assign file associations for extensions that not supposed to have a default program such as .exe, .com, .sys, .lnk, folder, directory, drive etc. (actually these special system files has unique associations which is not supposed to be another programs, so that Windows know to handle them accordingly).

Fix Application Programs Cannot or Unable to Set Associations for Supported File Extensions Problem in Vista

In Windows operating system, including Windows Vista, file type or file extension associations determine what’s the next course of action (specifically what application program been used to open a file or document, or what command to run) when user double clicks on a shortcut icon. By default, most file extensions or file types are been associated with various Windows built-in tools and utilities. Upgrade Windows Vista to 6001.18063.080425-1930 with KB952709 Update

Microsoft has silently upgrade Windows Vista (more specifically Windows Vista SP1) build version number from 6001.18000.080118-1840 to 6001.18063.080425-1930. The upgrade is done by the Update for Windows Vista KB952709 which was originally released on June 10, 2008, but almost immediately within days been taken off and retracted from Microsoft site.

Download Origami Experience 2.0 for Ultra-Mobile PCs Running With Vista

Microsoft Download Center has just released the Origami Experience 2.0, a suite of software designed particularly for Ultra-Mobile PCs that operate under Windows Vista. The new Origami Experience 2.0 application package is designed to give Ultra-Mobile PC users the same feel that they have in Windows Vista. With the Origami Experience 2.0 software package, users, for instance, can access and navigate for better information such as weather, email and RSS feeds based on the touch-screen experience.
