Download Microsoft Office 2010 Beta 1 Mondo Build 14.0.4417.1000 with Screenshots

A newer build version of Microsoft Office 2010 has been compiled and leaked to Internet. The new build has the wording of “BETA” printed on Office applications such as Word 2010, Excel 2010, PowerPoint 2010, Outlook 2010, OneNote 2010, SharePoint 2010, Project 2010, Visio 2010 and Publisher 2010 on “About” dialog and Start Menu, although it’s still a “Technical Preview” in splash screen. Thus it is probably a newer development milestone (may be Beta 1) past Office 2010 Technical Preview, where had also leaked for download.

Microsoft has implemented product activation scheme named Office Protection Platformm (OPP) that similar with Windows Product Activation (WPA) and Software Protection Platform (SPP) for Windows Vista and Windows Activation Technologies (WAT) Windows 7 in Microsoft Office 2010, where all copy of Office 2010 installed has to be activated, with 30 days activation grace period. There is no more “workaround” to use volume edition of Office with volume license product key (VLK) to bypass requirement to activate Office productivity suite.

Workaround to Disable and Remove OGA Office Not Genuine Notifications (Uninstall KB949810)

After installing Office Genuine Advantage (OGA) Notifications (KB949810) from Windows Update, OGA Validation will perform genuine test on installed Microsoft Office XP, Office 2003, Office 2007 and Office 2010 software. If Office product is validated as not genuine, “This copy of Microsoft Office is not genuine” notification message will be displayed on notification area (system tray), at splash screen during Office program (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) startup, and at Office’s toolbar or ribbon with extra “Get Genuine Office” tab or element.

Microsoft Office 2010 Volume License Product Key (VLK) Requires KMS or MAK for Activation

Volume licensing customers for Microsoft Office 2010 suites and applications who install volume editions of Office client software will require activation, even with a volume license key (VLK). The change to Office 2010 is closely resembled the change made starting from Windows Vista and Windows Server 2008 and continue in Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008, where all volume edition of operating system has to be activated.
