Techno Couture in LED Galaxy Dress
While technology may be all the rage, you may not want to wear it as a party gown, unless it is as glamorous and beautiful as the LED Galaxy Dress by Cute Circuit. With 24,000 2×2 mm full-coloured LEDs embroidered on layers of organza crinoline and silk chiffon, the dress shimmers and flashes as one walks. Unlike the usually stiff and tacky lit-up couture , the dress is light and mesmerising. The dress is powered by small and light iPOd batteries which are easily hidden beneath the layers of cloth. For 30 minutes to an hour, the LED Galaxy Dress displays a walking show of light and colours.

When the batteries run out of power, 4000 hand encrusted Swarovski crystals in the dress will glitter and dazzle so that one not only make a grand entrance but leave a lasting impression. The designers combine artistry and technology to make a beautifully designed couture and a piece of art. The prototype dress is on display to the public at the Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago.
