Motorola Plans to Launch World’s First Dual Sim Android Mobile Phone by 2010

Previously we mentioned about the new Motorola’s Droid Android based phones, now seems that the US manufacturer has a series of Android based mobile devices on the way, trying to capture some lose market shares in this competitive market space. Codenamed as Zeppelin, it is a unique first Android based mobile phone that being designed to support two sim cards targeted for those that used to carry two mobile phones while traveling around.

Zeppelin, the third Motorola Android based mobile phone after Cliq and Droid will be featured with a 3.1-inch 480 X 320 resolution, a relatively smaller screen size specifically tailored for its smaller form factor design. But what makes it so unique about the next generation mobile phone is it has been enhanced with two SIM card slots, with one compatible for normal GSM networks while the other one specifically added to be used with CDMA network standard in China. No information on which ARM core processor being used to power up the device but by looking at the integrated HDMI video output port, it could be something that is powerful enough to run HD (High Definition) video for greater visual experience. Other specifications include a 5-megapixel camera module, Wi-Fi 802.11b/g, FM radio, GPS (Global Positioning System) Bluetooth and many more.

No pricing information yet, the world’s first Android based dual SIM mobile phone will be available to China market by first quarter of 2010 before availability to other regions.
