The new Canon EOS 7D Digital SLR camera is expected to be available later this month for $1,699 (body only) and $1,899 (bundled with Canon’s EF 28-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS USM zoom lens), respectively. In addition, Canon also announced the launch of its new WFT-E5A wireless file transmitter (WFT) exclusively for EOS 7D, which offers users a wide range of digital connectivity options including IEEE802.11a/b/g and Ethernet, slated to be available in early November for around $700.

for $300 and $400 ask your professor to design a full frame or aps-c sized frame slr for you michael. how do you even come out with that price for a midlevel professional slr camera?
if it doesn’t have video feature you should go for canon 50d which is still costs more than 1200$ marietoms.
be reasonable guys. already 7d is beating canon 5d’ mark ii’s price and above all this one has amazing features. just use it and you will see how different it is from other cameras. just for argument sake dont say a price which fits your needs…

I wholeheartedly agree. Why not offer potential customers the choice with or without video, and we could at least see the price difference. My guess would be between $300-$400.

Canon still the best DSLR I think, but the HD movies feature just make the price to be expensive for some users. I buy a DSLR to take a photo, not to record video
