10Zig Technology Unveiled Intel Atom Based Thin Client Solutions for Embedded Market
You may have heard of many different applications that Intel Atom processor can benefit especially in embedded market. In order to demonstrate its advantages, board vendors normally tried to shrink the platform design so that it can fit into tiny form factor while able to utilize its display size to larger resolutions and one of the famous segments include the thin clients that are famous in consumer market. Just recently, 10Zig Technology, a US based company has unveiled additional two Linux based thin client solutions, namely RTB-672v and RBT-602 targeted for slightly different applications.

Measured at 156mm x 122mm X 36mm, the tiny computer module can be attached to LCD panel to conserve space as conventional thin clients or KIOSK systems. Although both of them look similar in terms of physical outlook, but they are offering different functions with RTB-672v being designed for desktop virtualization environment while RTB-602 can be used as end terminal emulation. Powered with Intel Atom N270 processor clocking at 1.6GHz, they are further equipped with maximum of 1GB DDR2 memory and 1GB flash storage which are more than sufficient for thin client usage. Besides, it includes some client software from various vendors such as Ericom, Citrix, Leostream and VMWare for virtualization technology. In terms of video output, it supports both single and dual independent display with resolution of up to 1600 X 1200 pixels. Other features include the Gigabit Ethernet LAN, USB 2.0 host ports, legacy PS/2 for mouse, audio as well as optional 802.11b/g wireless LAN.
No pricing information being disclosed yet, both the models are already available for ordering now on top of its existing product lines for consumers’ selection.
