Canon PowerShot SD980 IS and SD940 IS Overviews
Canon has introduced its new tiny and compact 12.1-megapixel PowerShot SD980 IS (Digital IXUS 200 IS) and SD940 IS (Digital IXUS 120 IS) Digital ELPH Cameras. Both of them incorporate Canon’s fast, intelligent DIGIC 4 image processor, 720p HD movie shooting capability, i-Contrast and Smart AUTO mode with Scene Detection technology.

The new stylish and ultra-slim Canon PowerShot SD980 IS and SD 940 IS are expected to be available by September 2009 for $330 and $300, respectively.

I guess i was one of the few early buyers to get one of these before they sold out, now it’s a 2 week plus wait time. first let me make it absolutely clear: if you expect ANY pocket sized digital camera to produce the same results as a $500+ SLR you are in for a disappointment. just cannot be done. its all in the size and quality of the lens, forget about the megapixels…
