How to Remove Windows Live Call Entry from New (ShellNew) Menu
After installing Windows Live Messenger, Windows Live Call, part of Microsoft’s Windows Live services which integrates into Windows Live Messenger is been installed too. Windows Live Call allows users to make PC-to-PC computer call, PC-to-Phone voice call and video calls. Windows Live Call also adds an entry into New menu (ShellNew) that appears when user right clicks on desktop or Windows Explorer.
The New -> Windows Live Call menu command allows user to directly initiate Windows Live Call to place a phone call or video call with another contact. Most users may prefer to use Windows Live Messenger to call friends, buddies, family members or colleagues. User who wants to tidy up and keep only a minimum of frequently used New menu’s entries, it’s possible to delete and remove Windows Live Call from New menu entry.
To clean and clear ShellNew (New menu) off Windows Live Call entry, run Registry Editor (RegEdit.exe), and browse to the following registry key:
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\LiveCall
Delete the LiveCall registry key to remove the Windows Live Call entry in the New menu.
