Asus P6X58 Premium Motherboard with Core i7, USB 3.0 and SATA 3.0 Specifications
We have mentioned about USB 3.0 Specification earlier but so far yet to see an actual platform until the recent great news from Asus. Just recently, Asus has planned to release its premium motherboard for high end enthusiasts. The next generation platform, named as P6X58 will be designed with two USB 3.0 host ports for high bandwidth data transfer on top of other impressive feature sets suitable for various market segments.

The platform is designed with extreme high performance requirements in mind. Besides featuring with USB 3.0 ports that can achieve 4.8Gbps thanks to NEC uPD720200 USB 3.0 certified chipset, it also enhanced with SATA 3.0 interface with 6Gps transfer speed for storage drive. In order to handle such high bandwidth data transmission, the platform is powered by famous Intel Core i7 processor, with six DDR3 memory slots for easy system upgrade targeted for mainstream applications. Other interfaces include three PCI Express 2.0 slots, USB 2.0 host port and many more.
Regardless of so much great features embedded into the system, there is no actual benchmarking performance data available from developer yet and it is a bit hard to estimate its actual performance. However, don’t expect it to be cheap and it could be too early to be able to find any suitable peripherals that can fully utilize such a high data transmission speed in consumer world.
