Windows 7E was a good idea as far as being able to choose a browser instead of having to have IE being installed. IE has always created an additional point of potential corruption.

I've got 5 machines (3 laptops & 2 home built) which either run Ubuntu Linux, Windows XP, or Windows Vista. At the price listed for Windows 7 Ultimate (which is the only version worth considering in my case) I have no choice but to take everything to Linux. Thank goodness I found out before I upgraded my Adobe CS3 Master Collection to CS4.

After having purchased Widows Vista Ultimate and later wondering why I had been so naive as to believe there were going to be extras, the failure to address the Windows 7 Ultimate question makes me wonder what Microsoft is thinking. Many who bought Vista Ultimate feel screwed to put in mildly, Microsoft could redeem themselves with a Windows 7 Ultimate upgrade, but them that would make too much sense. Don't hold your breath.
