Windows 7 Pre-Order 50% Half-Price Discount Promotional Deal
The official recommended retail price for full package and upgrade version of Windows 7 appears to be roughly similar with those of Windows Vista. But for fans of Windows 7, who determine to upgrade to Windows 7, Microsoft is launching a time-limited promotional deal that will see the price of certain editions Windows 7 been slashed by 50%, if customer pre-oder the Windows 7.
The pre-order promotion deal on Windows 7 Upgrade edition starts June 26th, 2009 in the United States, Canada and Japan, and ends on July 11 in USA and Canada, or July 5 in Japan, or while supplies last. After the 50% discount or more over the normal estimated retail price (ERP), the price of Windows 7 Home Premium and Windows 7 Professional editions, which are on offer, are as follow.

Upgrade Edition of Windows 7 Price
Windows 7 Home Premium – $ 119.99
Windows 7 Professional – $ 199.99

Windows 7E was a good idea as far as being able to choose a browser instead of having to have IE being installed. IE has always created an additional point of potential corruption.

I’ve got 5 machines (3 laptops & 2 home built) which either run Ubuntu Linux, Windows XP, or Windows Vista. At the price listed for Windows 7 Ultimate (which is the only version worth considering in my case) I have no choice but to take everything to Linux. Thank goodness I found out before I upgraded my Adobe CS3 Master Collection to CS4.

After having purchased Widows Vista Ultimate and later wondering why I had been so naive as to believe there were going to be extras, the failure to address the Windows 7 Ultimate question makes me wonder what Microsoft is thinking. Many who bought Vista Ultimate feel screwed to put in mildly, Microsoft could redeem themselves with a Windows 7 Ultimate upgrade, but them that would make too much sense. Don’t hold your breath.
