Avalue Announced EMX-945GSE Intel Atom Mini-ITX with Dual Independent Display for Embedded Application
Avalue has just announced a new Intel Atom based platform targeted for embedded applications. Named as EMX-945GSE, it is a Mini-ITX small form factor motherboard featured with Intel Atom N270 processor coupled with 945GSE chipset suitable for fanless and low cost design solutions.

Similar to most of other board vendors’ solutions, the tiny but yet powerful Atom processor is clocking at maximum of 1.6GHz but what makes it so unique is the capability of 945GSE chipset that able to offer dual-channel 24-bit LVDS ports for two independent displays simultaneously. Besides, the chipset can support up to 2GB RAM, with two Gigabit Ethernet ports, two SATA and IDE connectors, Mini PCI-Express slots and six USB host ports suitable for various usages in embedded world. Some of the usage models are such as interactive kiosks, digital signage, POS (point-of-sale) terminals and many more that require dual channel independent displays support for effective advertisement and infotainment applications.
No pricing and availability yet, the platform can be run with open source Linux, Windows CE and even XP since it is based on X86 architecture.
