Garmin Oregon 550 and 550t GPS with Built in Camera
Garmin, the technology leader in navigation products has just unveiled two new GPS models specifically designed with geo-tagging functionalities on top of other series available in market. The new models are enhanced with 3.2-megapixel camera so that users can snap and attach to the map database without the need of additional camera device.
There are two models, with the name of Oregon 550 and 550t being integrated with 3.2 megapixel camera module that allow geotagged images to be created instantly while on the move. Not much difference between these two except the latter (with ‘t’) will be preloaded with topo maps that can be purchased optionally at a later stage. With the integrated 4X digital zoom camera module, users can snap and store the image into its 850MB internal memory to be used for geotagging purpose, be printed or shared online just like what can be done through conventional digital camera. Besides, there is a tri-axial electronics compass that further enhanced with sunlight readable touchscreen to allow users identifying direction quickly for faster navigation.
Weighing at only 6.8 ounces, the Oregon 550 and 550t will be retailed at $500 and $599 respectively suitable for both personal and military use.
