The problem of Virtual PC and Kaspersky is the Application Activity Analyzer. You have to change following setting. Enable “Hidden Object” in the “Application Activity Analyzer” settings. After applying it should work.

Andrea, if ur using any anti-virus, especially Kaspersky for Windows 7, then just disable it and reinstall Virtual Windows XP, these errors will not be occurred.

Andrea and David, I had the same issue. I temporarily disabled the kaspersky beta, and it installed no problem. Turned the AV back on, and everything worked great.

After having installed the 2 files, during the Virtual Windows XP Setup, two errors appear: “The file could not be written.” and “Virtual hard disk could not be attached to the virtual machine. Please check the values provided and try again.”.
What’s the problem?? (Securable gives me a positive answers: 64 bits, Yes, Locked On)
