One thing that worked for me in short:

From the folder's properties click Advanced.

Change owner to the one currently logged in.
*Remember to check "Replace owner on subcontainers and odjects".

Close and reopen properties and again click Advanced.

Remove ALL users' permissions on the folder and then add the one currently logged in and assign full permissions.
*Remember to check "Replace all child object permissions with inheritable permissions from this object"

Hope it helps :)

One note on this. If your XP is 32-bit and your W7 is 64-bit, you can't run the bootsect.exe from the W7 DVD. I happened to have a Vista-32 DVD which did the trick though. Good luck.
