Best Job in the World – Island Caretaker at Great Barrier Reef
With cost cutting here and there, and first ever official layoff and retrenchment of 100 recruiters job in Google, do you still think that Google and Microsoft offers the best job in the world? Well, at least not in the mind of Tourism Queensland, a statutory authority for the Queensland government in Australia, which is recruiting a lucky person on 6-month contractual employment as Island Caretaker with a salary package of AUD$150,000 (about USD$100,000). At this rate alone, it’s probably better pay that most employed by Google or Microsoft.

The job responsibilities of the Island Caretaker is pretty ‘hard’ though, as it’s described as:
Feed the fish
There are over 1,500 species of fish living in the Great Barrier Reef. Don’t worry – you won’t need to feed them all.Clean the pool
The pool has an automatic filter, but if you happen to see a stray leaf floating on the surface it’s a great excuse to dive in and enjoy a few laps.Collect the mail
You’ll have some time on your hands, so why not join the aerial postal service for a day? It’s a great opportunity to get a bird’s eye view of the reef and islands.
Are you sure? Check out the video to see how’s the job of Island Caretaker should be done.
Well, it’s actually part of Australia Queensland government $1.7 million global marketing campaign to promote the Islands of the Great Barrier Reef.
