iPhone and iPod Touch Firmware Software 2.2 Direct Download Links
Apple has released firmware software upgrade version 2.2 for iPhone, iPhone 3G and iPod Touch with a bunch of new features, enhancements and bug fixes. iPhone and iPod Touch owners can connect and dock the device with iTunes installed computer to upgrade automatically, or download the .ipsw firmware file for manual updating.
- iPhone 3G firmware software v2.2: iPhone1,2_2.2_5G77_Restore.ipsw
- iPhone (2G) firmware software 2.2: iPhone1,1_2.2_5G77_Restore.ipsw
- iPod Touch 2nd Generation OS 2.2: iPod2,1_2.2_5G77a_Restore.ipsw
- iPod Touch 1st Generation OS 2.2: iPod1,1_2.2_5G77_Restore.ipsw (protected depends on versions)
To update to firmware OS 2.2, just do the following:
- Connect and dock iPhone or iPod to computer, and launch iTunes.
- Click Update, and then choose the firmware v2.2 IPSW file downloaded.
Tip: If you want to restore, update to another firmware or downgrade to earlier version, just press Shirt while click Restore to get the Restore option.
- Let iTunes upgrade the device.
Use QuickPwn or PwnageTool to jailbreak iPhone and iPod Touch, or Yellowsn0w to unlock iPhone and iPhone 3G after upgrading to version 2.2.

There’s a link to download 2.2 for the second generation ipod, and the iphones, but not the 1st generation ipod touch. Can you please update it??

I downloaded the one for iPod 2G. It downloads fine but unzips and ends up as a folder and not an .ipsw iTunes cant recognize it so what can i do?

I’m having trouble restoring my firmware 2.2

hey…i have got the new ipod touch!does it means that i cant unlock it?
can i use that quickpwn???
becasue i downloaded once one of these new unlockers but it didnt work out with ipod….

You need to press Shift (in Windows) or Option (in Mac) then click restore so it will allow you to choose the software (ipsw).

You don’t need yellowsn0w to unlock a iPhone 2G, in fact it won’t even work on a 2G iPhone. Pwnage or Quickpwn will do that fine.

I’ve got a problem after downloading – iPod Touch 2nd Generation OS 2.2: iPod2,1_2.2_5G77a_Restore.ipsw
After downloading this file, I tried to upgraid my Ipod Touch 2G, but when I connect my Ipod to I tunes and piush the button upgrade , it re takes me auto download of 2.2 Software. Can anyone help me in resolving that problem plz. How can I just browse the downloaded 2.2 ipsw and upgrade my Ipod. Coz I’ve even wasted lots of time in downloading Software 2.2 from direct links.
