    I have the same problem that Greg has. It won’t import them. The Google help tells me to “clean up” the CSV in Excel so I did that by removing all commas from the file and other things I could think of but it still won’t work.

    I think this is less of a formatting issue because I ran a test and imported a CSV with only 1 contact and basic information like name and phone. That worked but only if the contact wasn’t already in my Gmail contact list. I think this also goes for contacts in the “suggested” list. I don’t want to delete them all from suggested though since there are some emails I’d like to retain.

    It works well for Outlook 2003 and 2007.

    Hey

    Thanks for the tutorial. I followed the steps you described to import my outlook contacts into gmail but gmail couldn’t import them as there was an “unexpected error”. I tried on 2 systems and both did not recognized the outlook export. Any clue ?
