Once the you see the add-ons, look for the 'google toolbar for firefox' and click on its options. In the options under the search tab uncheck 'enable google new tab page' and press save. All done, you wont see the most visited thumbnails anymore. To turn the feature back on, repeat the process and check the box 'enable google new tab page' Cheers!
