Hack to Remove and Disable Send Feedback Tool in Windows 7 Beta
In Windows 7 beta or ‘near beta’ build such as build version 6956, there is a “Send” Feedback” link been appended on the right side of the title bar on each and every window opened on desktop, as illustrated in the figure below.

Those who feel that they’re not going to send feedback to Microsoft, has not encountered any buy to report, or simply don’t like the existence of “Send Feedback” wording on window’s or dialog’s title bar can use the following registry hack to disable and turn off the feedback too.
Run Registry Editor (RegEdit), and navigate to the following registry key:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop
Add in a new DWORD (32-bit) Value named FeedbackToolEnabled, and then set its value data as 0. Log off and log on again for the change to take effect.

People who don’t like to deal with registry manually can download the following registry file to merge the value to disable and remove the “Send Feedback” link automatically: Disable-Feedback-Tool.rar. After downloaded the RAR achive, run the Disable-Feedback-Tool.reg inside it.

Does not work in Build 7022… Spivonious: Some people (such as myself) don’t like to bother sending back feedback. I like my OS to be very clean. I don’t like to have things on my screen I will never use. Simply clutter.

I think this prevents you from upgrading to build 7022:
The following issues are preventing Windows from upgrading. Cancel the upgrade, complete each task, and then restart the upgrade to continue.
* There are folder or file names on partition : that the new Windows installation will need to use. Please rename the following folders or files: D:\Users.
* Your computer’s Windows configuration has been altered and cannot be upgraded.

Why would you want to do this? It doesn’t hurt anything, and enables you to be part of the beta testing process, should you find a bug.

It seems it was backed up by the system and restored when changed.
I updated my script but haven’t found anyone to test it yet so I haven’t uploaded it. The thread was removed.

Okay. You were right. For some reason this only worked for me. See the forum post below for proof. I don’t know why.

Well. I promise it works perfectly. Of cource you need to modify the new user32.dll.mui yourself or read below.
I made a little script for a few friends that removes both the build watermark and the “Send Feedback”-links. I’ve tested it on my computer. You can download it below if you want.

Just run RemoveWatermarks.cmd as administrator and it should work just fine after a reboot. It also makes a backup of modified files.

The modification of user32.dll.mui was working for build 6801(x86). This method is not effective for build 6801(x64) and build 6956(x86). New remedy needed. Help please.
Thank you.
