Vudu Prepares the Largest Source of Full HD HDX Movies Online Service
Not long after announcement on Netflix readiness to deliver HD (High Definition) media contents to both Microsoft Xbox and Roku Player, now Vudu has just ramped its total number of HD movies up to 1100 titles, making it the largest HD library based VOD (Video on Demand) online service in the world. According to the company, they have added almost 150 HD title per week since October and have reached this major milestone recently.

Worth to mention here is out of those 1100 HD movies, there are around 200 movies with HDX, 1080p full HD at 24 fps (frame per second) targeted for great home entertainment experience in digital home. As compared to around 300 HD titles available from Netflix and 700 HD titles for Apple iTunes, obviously Vudu stands a great advantage with much more variety of HD media available for consumer selections.
With the current promotion of Vudu BX100 box retailed at $300 (additional $200 movie credit rebate when you purchase it at Best Buy now) and each HD/HDX movie rentals of around $4-6 per title, it will definitely push some more Vudu Box into consumer market, competing against other set top boxes in this competitive segment.
