False Alarm From AVG To Flag Free Firewall ZoneAlarm As A Security Threat
AVG users who have been wrongly notified by AVG antivirus that their computers were infected with Trojan Agent r.CX can get the matter resolved by updating their AVG antivirus which has just been released today. AVG’s previous update has mistakenly flagged a ZoneAlarm file as a virus. This has created concern and panic amongst AVG users.
AVG users who experienced this problem would see a notice prompted by AVG Resident Shield on their computer screen to warn them that they had been infected with multiple incidents of a Trojan horse called Agent_r.CX. This warning notice would keep prompting out to warn users and created unnecessary hassle as well as inconvenience. The files infected are within zlsSetup_70_483_000_en[1].exe, a compressed file containing dormant set-up files for Check Point’s ZoneAlarm, which apparently set off the alarm.

Too bad it’s not the only false alarm of avg. My current (and up to date) AVG thinks Windows XP SP2 printer spooler DLL is a virus, and I can’t print anymore (and YES the DLL is fine).
