Canon Announces PowerShot SX110 IS
Canon has added a compact super-zoom camera to its PowerShot range, i.e. Canon PowerShot SX110 IS.

With a 10x Canon optical zoom and focal length of 36-360mm, PowerShot SX110 IS brings distant subjects into view. Its optical Image Stabilizer technology combats the effects of camera shake, delivering sharp, blur-free shots throughout the camera’s extensive zoom range. The camera uses a lens shift-type Image Stabilizer (IS) system which is able to to detect and correct slight camera shakes that can cause image blur. It can be done with a single-chip IS controller.
The camera comes with Face Detection system that is able to detect up to nine faces within a frame, and then adjust focus, exposure, flash and white balance to ensure optimal result. Furthermore, Face Select & Track function allows user to select a particular face to be the main subject of a photograph and track it, for the best possible results.
The camera features 20 shooting modes that is designed for optimum results in a wide range of lighting conditions. With New Easy Mode, the camera is able to choose different shooting mode automatically. On the other hand, experienced users can still have the flexibility by switching to full manual control.
Canon’s DIGIC III (Digital Imaging Core) image processor is used in PowerShot SX110 IS that gives superb image details, colour reproduction and accurate white balance with Advanced image processing algorithms. High-speed processing results in outstanding responsiveness, rapid auto focus and extended continuous shooting ability.
Canon SX110IS optimizes key camera settings automatically with iSAPS (intelligent Scene Analysis based on Photographic Space), by analyzing and cross-referencing Photographic Space, in-camera library of photographic data. This enables the camera to make optimal adjustments to auto exposure, auto focus and auto white balance before image capture occurs.
Canon PowerShot SX110 IS supports SD, SDHC, MMC memory cards, MMCplus and HC MMCplus card formats. It will be available in the United States from the end of August, at RRP of $299.99 USD.
