Has anyone tried this successfully in the UK? The only supplier of iPhone contracts in the UK is O2 and all the comments I’ve read here had mentioned AT&T.

Any feedback from UK users much appreciated?

sorry…cannot join the adhoc created from my notebook.
i use a 3G-S maybe thats the problem?
when i typed the pswd for the ad-hoc it does not end…it neither shows an error window (like i couldnt join the network) nor does it accept it

there is NO iPhone 2G in that way, there are only two generations of iPhones! the 3G of iPhone 3G means that it supports UMTS, nothing else!

I get my iphone connected to my PC but network and sharing center in windows shows that iphone has no connection to internet. It is weird because i can browse internet on iphone.

Does it mean that i need to configure settings in iphone? Thx

Pablo,
One disadvantage of this method is that you’ll need to individually configure every application in your macbook for using a SOCKS proxy. The only one that uses the main socks proxy network setting is Safari.

Also, there are some of the newest macbooks (pro) that have been reported to be avoiding iphones as modems in some way.

I hope this could be helpful.

PDAnet is now available for the iPhone but it requires jailbreaking.
