I have the same error 0×80073afc failed to find MUI file, also windows update will not work from control panel or from the microsoft website please help!!!

I encountered the same problem both of you did. I find out that I can only install KB947506 in my original MUI (which is chinese) but get the 0Ã—80073afc error when I try to install it in en-US MUI. Maybe you can try switch back to your original MUI through the MUI Tool, install the hotfix, then switch to new MUI again. And make sure you have download the official SP1 MUI:http://www.tipandtrick.net/2008/windows-vista-sp1-32-bit-mui-language-packs-direct-download-links/

Hi, My WIndows Update also not working, but I can’t install the update pitch, it said “The resource loader failed to find MUI file.” and show error ID:0×80073afc. What is that??
