Yay for patch Tuesday!
tcpip.sys has been updated again, but I’m not sure what version.
When I check the details, there is no information in the Product version (Just blank). The File description, File version, Product name, and Language are all empty as well… What gives?

Hi there,
I downloaded readydriver and installed it and it loads on boot but it doesn’t seem to have an affect on the driver permissions for windows.
So… I did it manually, changed tcpip.sys to tcpiporiginal.sys and added tcp32-18000.sys to the drivers. Then did the registry patch. Well when I did it I could no longer connect to the internet and I get the message ‘the dependency service or group failed to start’.
Has anyone else experienced this problem and does anyone have any idea how to solve it? To get back on the internet I just undid the patch but i would like to get it working.
Cheers, Rob

I tried version 2.0 on my x64 sp1 vista ultimate. Using the f8 trick, it doesn’t still work. It gives me error 0xC0000359. I had to use vista installation’s repair to recover from it. My tcpip.sys version is 18000. This is very frustrating.

Once you copy tcpip.sys and you can’t go back if it fails. I get a complete crash even if i revert back to original tcpip.sys. Got error in netio.sys.. so still waiting patch for my vista 64 6.0.6000.16627 version tcpip.sys.
Vista is crap!

hey is there an easier way to do this whole thing it seems like making an .exe autopatcher would be a better idea and not quite as prone to annoying the hell out of users

I have UAC set up the way I want it - please don’t fsck with anything but the TCP IP setting! Sure you give a way to re-enable UAC, but I have it set to some custom settings already, and this will probably blow all my work away. As I’m on Vista Premium I’ll have to install another app to get the options I want since group policy editor doesn’t exist.
Please just change the TCPIP and nothing else from now on.

What a disaster windows is. This tcpip stack is so broke I’m considering OSX.
Oh wait, OSX is broke too. Ugh.. why do companies have to be so damn stupid about they treat customers? Let us manage our OWN SETTINGS!
