What a disaster windows is. This tcpip stack is so broke I’m considering OSX.

Oh wait, OSX is broke too. Ugh.. why do companies have to be so damn stupid about they treat customers? Let us manage our OWN SETTINGS!

I have UAC set up the way I want it - please don’t fsck with anything but the TCP IP setting! Sure you give a way to re-enable UAC, but I have it set to some custom settings already, and this will probably blow all my work away. As I’m on Vista Premium I’ll have to install another app to get the options I want since group policy editor doesn’t exist.

Please just change the TCPIP and nothing else from now on.

I tried version 2.0 on my x64 sp1 vista ultimate. Using the f8 trick, it doesn’t still work. It gives me error 0xC0000359. I had to use vista installation’s repair to recover from it. My tcpip.sys version is 18000. This is very frustrating.

    Hi there,

I downloaded readydriver and installed it and it loads on boot but it doesn’t seem to have an affect on the driver permissions for windows.

So… I did it manually, changed tcpip.sys to tcpiporiginal.sys and added tcp32-18000.sys to the drivers. Then did the registry patch. Well when I did it I could no longer connect to the internet and I get the message ‘the dependency service or group failed to start’.

Has anyone else experienced this problem and does anyone have any idea how to solve it? To get back on the internet I just undid the patch but i would like to get it working.

    Cheers, Rob

I got similar problems as Rob did 2.2 doesn’t work. After I patched with InstallPatch32-18063.bat and rebooted my vista 32bit system. I get a bunch of errors in event viewer such as “TCP/IP Protocol Driver is not a valid Win32 application.” and I can’t connect to the internet until I unpatch it and yes I did select Disable Driver Signature Enforcement”. I did it manually and let ReadyDriverPlus do it. My tcpip.sys version is 6.0.600.18063.

2.2a doesn’t work. the files are all the same (same CRC) and the only difference is in the .bat file (System32 was changed into Sysnative). that wasn’t the problem in my case, i could install the 2.2 patch just fine (the files did get patched), the problem was, that the patched tcpip.sys file didn’t have any effect. i still got the 4226 event and my sites took “forever” to load. so, im guessing the problem isnt in the .bat, but in the tcpip.sys file

2.2 works on Vista x64 SP1 with all updates applied & F8 method of bypassing signature checks. I did not run your batch file, though. I simply copied over the patched 6.0.6001.18063 file and ran the 50K registry key and disabled tcp ip autotuning.

It blows my mind that this is hard coded beyond a reghack. I have never had problems with content from this site. However, I am simply not comfortable with replacing the .sys.
I hope that MS puts out a tool, or a reg key is found for corp admins.

    This helped me a lot!

For Windows Vista Ultimate SP1 with tcpip.sys version 6.0.60001.18063 or 6.0.6001.22167 (Support both x64 and x86 Windows Vista SP1 - check the version of system tcpip.sys located in \Windows\System32\drivers folder, and run Install32-18063.bat or Install32-22167.bat for 32-bit Vista or Install64-18063.bat or Install64-22167.bat accordingly.)

(That was based on my version of tcpip.sys (6.0.60001.18063)
reboot, it autoselects the bypass in ReadyDriverPlus
NOTE: It screwed up the first reboot only because I thought I had to hit the up arrow once on the menu, rebooted again and let RDP do it’s thing and now I have much seeding goodness with high connections/Max connections!

2.2a has some references to %systemroot%\sysnative which fail on my 64bit system… i changed those up… also i notice the older batch files update stuff in winsxs, and winsxs backups, wouldnt it be ideal to have the batch replace 18000, 18063, etc, in the active system folder, and the winsxs, and the winsxs backup folders, with the various corresponding tcpip.sys patches or is that not necessary?

    Worked like a charm

    Vista 32-bit, TCP/IP file version 6.0.60001.18063, Patch V2.2

Thank you for all of your efforts.

    Safe Steps i used:

    1. Disabled all network connections.
    2. Followed the steps described at the top for patching.

NOTE: ReadyDriverPlus is included within the patch zip file, so you dont have to download it.

I have a strange problem related to ReadyDriverPlus, it worked at first, then here what happened, when the system boots, it shows two options, windows vista and readyDriver, the readydriver is set to the default selection, till here we are cool.

afterwards, the menu appears again and the two options as well, NO Advanced menu appears, which leads the keystrokes to reselect the readydriver again, and ofcourse the system doesnt boot.

does anybody encountered such a problem or know how to fix it?
