Free Porn on Mobile Phones
It seems we can never get enough of sex and pornography. As new technology emerges, our sexual appetite is increasingly whetted by easier means to access and view pornographic material. Having made great inroads in Europe, the adult entertainment industry now wants a piece of the action in mobile telecommunications technology in the US, It is prepared to provide free porn or sexual images – sexy girls in bikini, grid girls with hot bodies, models in lingerie, tattooed boobs, a half-naked Pamela Anderson - for downloading on mobile phones. It looks like erotica is the next buzz for mobile phone users. Besides, mobile phone users can opt for paid services such as live video or adult dates (pre-arranged sex with strangers). This will definitely sound off alarm bells in parents. Is a pedophile just a phone call or SMS away from their cell phone-totting children?
Phone companies want to have it all. They plan to introduce a wider variety of services and less stringent control on these services. At the same time, they are aware of the anxiety of parents and religious groups. Thus, more tools to shield minors will be introduced. Sprint Nextel Corp claims it will support a wide array of gadgets for a fast wireless Web service which kicks off in 2008. Customers of the service would be able to view anything they like. Sprint will also provide Web filters to help keep minors from adult sites. NeuStar sells an age-verification system for which it aims to have both a U.S. carrier client and a content customer within six months. Yet, one wonders how effective will these measures be? Some carriers are still hesitant about opening up their network to soft porn. While ethics and legality may be important issues, the quality of the image on small mobile phones is another consideration. The iPhone, for instance, is ideal for viewing porn due to its graphics and Web browser that mimics computer browsers. The pressure is on phone companies to come up with higher quality graphics and services.
Porn is becoming mobile; it is going places. But on a more realistic note, it has nowhere to grow but to go mobile.
