what about the oem bios hacks?
the RC SP1 runs with the bios hack.
i thought the SP1 will disable this hacks?
thats why i don´t think the RC is the same as the RTM.

So far there is no claim that OEM BIOS hack been disabled in Vista SP1 RTM. It’s either RC2R2 is not actually the RTM and confusing everybody, or Microsoft has dropped the plan in SP1.

Plz someone or this site make article the leaked link for Sp1 and confirm that is it rtm. Usually this site is good at that :). About the oem bios hack, microsoft has mention it in pdf, that they disable the oem bios hack and unlimited grace period.

I just used the method described in the article linked by “Windows Update” in the next to last sentence of this article to install SP1.
A check of my registry at HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion
now shows the following:
BuildLab = 6001.longhorn_rtm.080118-1840
BuildLabEx = 6001.18000.x86fre.longhorn_rtm.080118-1840
So download and install the RTM version from M$ rather than risk torrents or Usenet.
