Sony Announces Latest Alpha D-SLR Models With Quick AF Live View Technology
The famous consumer electronics giant, Sony has recently announced the new additions to its α (Alpha) D-SLR family – 10.2 megapixel Alpha 300 and the 14.2 megapixel Alpha 350, which are the first digital SLR cameras to feature Sony’s Quick AF Live View technology. According to the company, “This all-new system fuses the convenience of live image preview with the responsive TTL phase-detection system and rapid continuous shooting that’s prized by digital SLR users.”

“Mainstream users stepping up to DSLRs are looking for a similar experience to their point and shoot cameras, but without compromise in speed or performance” said Phil Lubell, director of marketing for digital cameras at Sony Electronics. “Quick AF Live View gives these new models a familiar shooting style without compromising speed – ideal for the growing market of first-time SLR users.”
Both of the latest Alpha DSLR cameras feature a Bionz image-processing engine; APS-C size CCD with anti-dust system; 2.7-inch tilting Clear Photo LCD screen (upwards by up to 130 degrees and down by up to 40 degrees); Super SteadyShot image stabilization technology; nine-point autofocus; internal anti-dust mechanism; spot, centre-weighted and 40-segment metering; ISO 100-3200 sensitivity and even a fast live autofocus mechanism for shooting with the LCD as a viewfinder.
The new Sony Alpha 300 D-SLR camera will hit the market by April while the Alpha 350 Digital SLR camera is expected to be available from the beginning of March.
