Counter Espionage: Spot the Spying Devices

What’s a good debugging equipment or spy detector in the market? When you’re enjoying sex or in the privacy of your bedroom or discussing multibillion deals in a meeting room, you will not want prying eyes and ears to record down your every move. There are a range of counter surveillance products or anti-bugging devices in the market. But counter espionage experts claim that some cheap spy detectors are like toys which can’t really guarantee your money’s worth or your peace of mind. Some bugging detectors can only trace the presence of a pinhole spy camera when it is within a distance of 12cm to 15cm. On the other hand, other spying devices may be able to spot action through a wall in the next room 4m away. Anti-bugging machines which can track hard-wired cameras are better than those which only detect wireless cameras. Hard-wired cameras require physical search. Disguised wires in a potted plant, a smoke detector, a telephone, or a digital clock have to be physically swept by professional sweepers to debug rooms or houses. Some counter espionage devices are highlighted below for comparison. However, nothing beats the professional services of counter-espionage experts who are equipped with state-of-the-art equipment, knowledge and expertise.

Shield 5000, a sophisticated all-in-one bugging detector can scan almost every bugging technology currently available. This anti-bugging device can trace concealed microphones, closed-circuit televisions (CCTVs), radios, laser-based wall snoopers, hidden cameras, etc. it can also scan a wide-ranging spectrum to detect spying devices from Japan, Germany and the United States which use different radio frequency. Measuring 2.6cm in thickness, this product is not bulky and easy to use. Selling for a retail price of $1,320, it is cheap and affordable for certain anti-espionage purposes. The product was developed by Humint, an established security firm in Korea.

ssc-715.jpg715 Micro Detector with Signal Strength LED Meter and Audio Indicator, a state-of-the-art multi-purpose receiver that combines essential counter surveillance radio-frequency detection functions in one compact unit about the size of a standard pager. Most all of today’s cameras transmit on 900Mhz, 1.2Mhz, or the most common of all, 2.4GHz. Even much higher priced equipment has difficulty detecting low power 2.4GHz microwave video transmitters. Extremely user friendly and comes complete with easy to understand operating instructions. The Micro Bug Detector quickly “HUNTS DOWN” hidden phone, room or body bugs, remote control signals, computer, fax, or telex transmitters, video transmitters, pulsed tracking transmitters and even wide band frequency hopping or “burst” bugs. Features includes: Relative Signal Bar Graph, RF Gain Control, Headphone Input, On/Off Control and earplug. Rugged Carrying Case.
