Verizon UTStarcom XV6800 (HTC Titan) CDMA Phone Reviews
Verizon Wireless UTStarcom XV6800 is a Windows Mobile CDMA PDA phone for VZW that based on the popular HTC Titan platform. The XV6800 Pocket PC (PPC) cellphone runs on Windows Mobile 5 (WM5) Pocket PC AKU3 operating system, and features 1xEV-DO (upgradeable to Rev. A), sliding QWERTY keyboard, thumb wheel, 2 Megapixel camera, microSD slot, 256MB Flash memory and 96MB RAM. The VZW XV6800 supports WiFi 802.11 b/g, Bluetooth 2.0 and BBAC (BroadbandAccess Connect for tetherable EV-DO).
CNet reviews UTStarcom XV6800 for Verizon Wireless and rates the XV6800 with rating of a very good score of 7.7 out of 10, and concludes that th Verizon Wireless XV6800 smartphone brings upgrades such as Windows Mobile 6, a 2-megapixel camera, and a sleeker design than its predecessor. You also get Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and EV-DO. However, the XV6800’s speaker is on the softer side, and call quality could be better. The smartphone doesn’t support Verizon’s streaming media services, and there are some slight performance delays. Overall, the Verizon Wireless XV6800 comes with most everything a power business user will need from a smartphone, but its less-than-stellar call quality gives the Samsung SCH-i760 the slight edge.

I’m not entirely sure that this topic has made it over to this forum yet, but I figured it’s very important I post it and I don’t have time to wonder thru this forum to see if anyone else has mentioned it…This deserves to be bumped anyways….
IF YOU HAVE VERIZON’S LATEST OFFICIAL WINDOWS MOBILE 6.1 RELEASE (available thru free download on the manufacturers website) YOU CAN NOW ENABLE / ADD GPS TO VERIZON’S LATEST OFFICIAL XV6800 STOCK ROM (and cooked rom’s needing mod’s work too)!!! [VZW Rom v3.57.605.1] – THIS IS VERY EASILY APPLIED!!!

This kicks so much ass….especially since I myself didn’t want to mess with cooked ROM’s… I knew that once verizon made their own VZW software run on the phone and disable the GPS for all other apps, that someone would come along and “fix” verizons pathetic software lock-down.
