Vista SP1 to Kill and Disable Grace Timer and OEM BIOS Activation Cracks/Exploits
Windows Vista Service Pack 1 includes code enhancements in activation infrastructure and the Windows Genuine Advantage fixes two anti-piracy loophole vulnerabilities, and can detect, and then disable and kill two type of the most common Vista activation cracks or exploits which hackers used as a workaround to bypass the activation process and fool the WGA validation to always genuine in Vista, namely OEM BIOS and Grace Timer and their variants.
“We know that Windows Vista is a lot harder to counterfeit than Windows XP, but we also know that pirates will keep trying. We currently see two primary types of exploits pirates often use to generate counterfeit versions of Windows Vista. One is known as the OEM Bios exploit, which involves modifying system files and the BIOS of the motherboard to mimic a type of product activation performed on copies of Windows that are pre-installed by OEMs in the factory. Another is called the Grace Timer exploit. This exploit attempts to reset the “grace time” limit between installation and activation to something like the year 2099 in some cases. Implementing exploits involves extreme alterations to key system components and can seriously affect system stability. So we are taking action. SP1 will include updates that will target those exploits and disable them.” Said Mike Sievert, Corporate Vice President, Windows Product Marketing during interview with PressPass.
Many hackers have anticipated Microsoft to address the activation bypass issues using 2099 trick or grace timer exploits as called by Microsoft, and in fact, surprised why it took so long for Microsoft to respond to the Grace Timer hack to make the trick useless. Stake is higher for OEM BIOS exploit, as it’s currently the only near perfect best Vista activation crack available, which emerged since April 2007 to simulate OEM Vista activation. If Vista SP1 has its way, these two exploits and cracks to bypass activation and validation in Vista will be detected, disabled, removed and rendered useless.
However, Microsoft doesn’t provide specific on which or both OEM BIOS the SP1 update can detect, as currently there are hardware based OEM BIOS mod and software based OEM BIOS emulation such as Vista Loader and Paradox OEM BIOS Emulator, which is the base exploit used by most activators.
A lot of Vista customers have been unhappy with the overly jealous the way Vista’s Software Protection System and the compulsory WGA checks worked, as there were high rate of false positive bugs in the systems that would deem valid purchased copy or legitimate versions of the OS invalid. Thus, these exploits to bypass the system piracy checks is not used for nefarious purposes by those who purposely don’t want to pay and want to commit stealing crime, but also for users who were frustrated and fed up by activation and validation system errors, which in the case of Vista without SP1, will stop many user functionalities and render the system useless.
Anyway, in return for the tighten anti-cracks measure, SP1 removes reduced functionality mode (RFM) from Vista. Thus, if you have activated Vista with Grace Timer hack or OEM BIOS activation, and been detected by Windows Genuine Advantage Validation check, there will not be dire consequences other than persistent and frequent nag screens and black desktop background.
How to avoid been detected? Or doesn’t want the activation crack to be invalidated? It’s possible, by opting not to install the Windows Vista Service Pack 1 (SP1) update when it’s released. Any user who chooses not to install the SP1 update would not be affected by changes above.

NOTE: Windows Vista Languages is just one single OS where all just the LABELS have been modified….—-same system files—–….If u press Yes from VOATK Tools…. The event handler… does the rest……
First of all : VOATK Tools not by ME!!!!
Second: Ur Vista Os is corrupt…. Try running Registry Mechanic…..
The loopset is based on the software VOATK…searching for the all registry files for all Vista cracks….which is hardcoded…..
Why dont you remove it manually….. Or do a fresh
installation….. If possible
Try to do this:
Either Repair Ur System with ur vista DVD ( boot)
and reinstall the crack(not VOATK Tools)the other one ….. IT SHOULD WORK…..
( Someone used it and it worked on all language version)

BABA the removal of the Vista Cracks using VOAKT tools 2.2 does not work on dutch and probably other languages, it does get a loop in a script trying to remove HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Services\TimerStop I suspect that the script generates a Y (Yes for deletion) and the dutch version requires a J (Ja = dutch Yes)
Can you create a version for dutch language or let the user input the correct letter.
Something like: Enter the letter that resembles a Yes (Y, J, ……)

Just to give everyone a notice, I’ve also been testing all the different cracks on the net, on a VISTA Ultimate SP1 installed with en_windows_vista_with_service_pack_1_x86_dvd_x14-29594.iso.
And these are the results;
PARADOX Crack: No
Vista Automated Activation v3.0: No
ViSTA.SP1.BOOTLOADER.ZWTiSO: No (Is actually a virus, when run you get a message “Vista x86 not supported” and deletes the .exe file)
Vista SP1_One Click Activation. Finalv1.0: Yes (This one looks similar to Vista Automated Activation v3.0, but it gives thanks to some Chineese team, nevertheless it does the job right! Bad news is that you get those annoying text lines at each boot, as if it was LinuX!)
Vista Boot v07.0521: Not tried yet
vista_sp1_activation_crack_vistaboot_v0.5: Not tried yet.
I ofcourse can understand that by first installing Vista 6000, applying any emulator and then updating with SP1 to 6001 most cracks would still work. But what the idea is that a crack does neatly the job on a fresh 6001 installation.

I tried installing sp1, so far no problem, maybe the vista bootloader that i use with my vista earlier one is still working…But although in the system info there is the DELL logo, but the manufacturer and certain setiings have turned to XXX..I wonder what will happen once that pc of mine goes online..Maybe will connect to the internet soon, if updates can be downloaded as usual then i guessed i passed the new WGA’s in SP1..Will keep posting..

Baba, i will be waiting for your progress before trying it out. Thanks for your effort. But the ZWTiso crack which i downloaded and then scanned with AVG has a Backdoor.Shark.R when scanned with AVG.So it is really a virus?? Btw…i downloaded the file from Xlice too, can it be used?

Sorry guys for the lateness… Fisrt of all it doesnt find the BOOTMGR,,,,

I uninstalled it and installed it again… by editing some script,,,,but alas…. NOTHING…..
What i’ve noticed is the BOOTMGR file is associated to other files…in the “winsyx folder..
10 days remaining for SP1 on my PC…. I’ll wait till Day-1 and then “Ode back to school”….
I’ll use this one “ViSTA.SP1.BOOTLOADER.ZWTiSO”
and check it out….

I’ve downloaded it today.. And will test it in the afternoon..And will post a feedback about it…
I’ve Vista Ultimate with SP1 installed days ago… The countdown has started…only 12 days remaining for activation…. I dont care… BECOZ A GROUP HAVE THE CRACK AND ABOUT 2-3 WEEKS IT WILL BE ON…. THEY DIDNT POST IT BECOZ THEY WERE WAITING UNTIL SERVICE PACK 1 RTM IS PUBLICLY AVAILABLE…
Note: Issues with Crysis, NFS Prostreet…etc… is not with graphic cards…(as heard that althogh having the latest card…next gen game cant be plaed though…bla bla bla…) But Vista still BUGS……

Finally I found a nice workaround, since I’m too lazy to reinstall the whole thing just to apply the sp1:
1. any slic table can be used with this program, simply by selecting it. no special encoding is present (like in the paradox crack). all of the slic tables collected are viable candidates for integration.
2. this crack only applies the slic table. it does not apply (or even have) the matching oem certificates – nor does it install a serial number for vista. both of these steps must still be done manually using the command prompt and slmgr.vbs.

If your PC has a FireWire port, setting a login password may not be enough to keep others away from your data – at least, not so long as they have access to the physical system.
According to The Age, New Zealand security consultant Adam Boileau has released a tool on his website that allows one to break into a Windows PC “in seconds” using a Linux system and a simple FireWire connection to the target machine. Dubbed Winlockpwn, the crack relies on FireWire’s direct memory access functionality to read and write the target PC’s memory and “modify Windows’ password protection code . . . [to] render it ineffective.” Boileau demonstrated Winlockpwn for the first time at a security conference two years ago, but he only released it to the public today. He says he got in touch with Microsoft to warn them, but that the software giant still hasn’t fixed the hole, since it believes security measures are moot if a malicious user has physical access to a system. So far, the crack has been demonstrated on Windows XP, but The Age says it doesn’t know whether Vista is also affected. There is a simple fix, though. Sophos security researcher Paul Ducklin advises users, “If you have a Firewire port, disable it when you aren’t using it.”

We do not know much about it; however we know it will emulate a brand SLIC which will make an OEM Activation possible.
What is new and where this method does vary from the others is that it does integrate the SLIC table directly into BootMgr. Unlike other Paradox, this method can have no conflicts wit different chipsets, motherboards, or drivers. Unlike VistaLoader, this method has no conflicts with multiboot systems, does not require alteration of the Master Boot Record, and does not result in any text being displayed prior to Windows being booted. This method will also work equally well with Vista 32-bit or 64-bit and is independent of the version of Windows (Home Basic, Home Premium, Business, Ultimate) used. The bad news are, this method is vulnerable to the same types of detection which can be used on the other cracks – so can be disabled.
Some notes on using this hack:

i dont think microsoft did a very good job blocking OEM BIOS hacks, i have been using paradox for over a year now, and still working fine, even after downloading, and installing framework SP1. besides, there are countless other hacks for vista, such as the vista loader. I’m not sure y microsoft has spent all their time, just blocking timer stop, and Paradox.I agree with Nimal though, timer stop is useless.

lol…vista sp 1 is not fool proof ..it will be cracked as soon as possible …by the way vista activator works perfectly fine on vista 32bit no viruses or trojan horse but plz don’t install timestopper as it’s infected with a trojan horse ..tried it but it was disabled by windows updates ,i then ran a virus scan using norton 360 which detected a trojan horse in timestopper ….but activator works fine nothing detected there,,i even pass windows genuine advantage
..waiting for sp 1 activator.
