Is there anything similar in win2k3/xp? this thing is freaking me out cause i’m used to sort mp3 files by modified and with this thing on i don’t have that option.

In the past, Windows used to have bugs. Then came Vista, and it was filed under realistic AI. In case you ever wondered why Vista thinks your source code folders should be treated as music. Errae humanum est.

Thanks very much for this tip. As a new Vista user I was getting pretty frustrated with all the autodetection/template-imposition going on. I followed the steps (including the pre-requisite steps to nuke the Bags key, which was recreated upon reboot; just an FYI for anyone wondering), even nuked the “1″ key under the new Bags key, and now I’ve got good ol’ XP behavior back!
