The watermark refers to the SP1 itself and not to the whole OS. If you check your system properties you will see that VISTA will still be activated after the SP1 beta install. I updated a long time ago and still no problem. Good Luck!

I did three things to run the .cmd into the registry. First, I copied the text above and pasted into Notepad, then I ran it as “administrator”. Second, I downloaded the .cmd then ran it as “administrator”. Third, I turned on UAC and followed the second above. I have ran Microsoft Update an umpteen times and nothing is coming up. Did I flood the registry with to many commands?

After I clicked “run” the “command prompt” dialog box came up and disappeared and I assume the download/install was in english.

I finally got it to download and install. I pasted the above code into command prompt and the first KB showed up in Microsoft Update.
Once the final build of SP1 is released do I uninstall this version first to install the final build?
